Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Local media lead for the three Bay Area families that participated in JDRF’s 2003 Children Congress, a bi-annual event where 200 children, representing all 50 states and who live with juvenile diabetes, converged in Washington, D.C. before Congress to tell their stories and urge lawmakers to help find a cure. Children’s Congress is part of JDRF’s “Promise to Remember Me” campaign.

“Board Highlight” – A monthly web column on the JDRF website where I discussed health, legislative, funding and personal issues of juvenile diabetes with members of the JDRF Board, Greater Bay Area Chapter.

Promoted community fundraising events that received coverage from tier l and tier II San Francisco Bay Area print press.

Lead PR strategist for the USTA’s presence at the 2007 Bank of the West Classic, a WTA tennis tournament featuring the tours top players, held annually at Stanford University. Creatively maintained a “Summer of Love” theme throughout all materials. The USTA’s activities received substantial regional coverage in all major Bay Area print and online news and entertainment publications, and consisted of more placements than the tournament itself.
